For patients in Livingston, Linlithgow, and across West Lothian looking for a long-lasting tooth replacement solution, implant-supported teeth offer outstanding results. Unlike traditional dentures or bridges, implant-supported teeth are anchored directly into the jawbone, giving you a stable, comfortable, and natural-looking smile.

At No 9 Dental Practice in Uphall, we specialise in implant-supported crowns, implant-supported bridges, and implant-retained dentures — so whatever your tooth replacement needs, we have a solution to suit you.

Why choose implant-supported teeth?

Implant-supported teeth are widely regarded as the gold standard in tooth replacement. Here is why so many of our patients choose this option:

Feels and functions like a natural tooth — because the implant fuses with your jawbone, it provides a stable root that looks, feels, and bites just like your own tooth.

Preserves your jawbone — when a tooth is lost, the jawbone beneath it can begin to deteriorate over time. Dental implants stimulate the bone and help prevent this from happening.

Long-lasting results — with good oral hygiene and regular check-ups, dental implants can last many years, making them one of the most cost-effective tooth replacement options in the long run.

No impact on neighbouring teeth — unlike a dental bridge, a single implant does not require the teeth on either side of the gap to be prepared or reduced.

We can replace missing teeth with:

Dental bridges

Dental Bridges are a way of replacing missing teeth, using the support of the teeth on either side of the gap. They are made in a similar way to dental crowns. If you have a gap, particularly one or two teeth, then dental bridges can be a great solution.

How we complete the treatment:

We will take an impression of your gap to create a natural, custom fitting bridge. Sometimes the teeth on either side will need to be prepared to support the bridge, while other times the bridge can be attached to the tooth as it is. This impression will either be sent to our technician to create your bridge, or we may be able to make it in a single appointment onsite with our CEREC machine.

Dental implants

Implants are the most predictable long-term solution to missing teeth. This is true whether you are missing one, two, or have no teeth left. Tooth implants fuse with the bone under your gums to form a strong and reliable foundation onto which we can build natural looking crowns, bridges or dentures as a replacement tooth/teeth.

If you would like the best dental treatment that is a permanent solution to missing teeth in the West Lothian area, then this could be the ideal treatment for you.

Tooth replacement FAQ

Am I suitable for dental implants?

Most adults in good general health are suitable candidates for dental implants. A full assessment, including a review of your jawbone density, is carried out before treatment begins. We use the latest imaging technology to plan your treatment with precision.

How long does the tooth replacement process take?

Timescales vary depending on the treatment chosen. A dental bridge can often be completed in as few as two appointments. Dental implants involve a healing period after placement, meaning the full process typically takes several months — but the results are well worth it.

Will tooth replacement look natural?

Yes. Whether you opt for a dental implant crown, an implant-supported bridge, or a dental bridge, your replacement teeth are carefully matched in size, shape, and shade to blend seamlessly with your natural smile.
