One of the resons I went to Branemark Institiute in South Africa was to hear all about the new MAX Implant. This is the first dedicated implant that has been specifically designed to replace the failling molar. The idea is that the wide body of the implant will fit directly into the socket of the back tooth that has just been extracted. Since the implant is shorter, less bone height is required for stability of the implant. This is especially useful in the upper arch where the sinus is present and in the lower arch where the inferior dental nerve is present. Its success has been proven over the past seven years in South Africa. The first patient to recieve one here is booked for the treatment in April. This could be one of the first MAX Implants placed in Scotland. Another first for No9 Dental Practice. If you have a failing molar why not conact us to see if a MAX could work for you. Peter
