Many people are currently struggling to access dental hygiene appointments. We have Dental Hygiene appointments available to provide this service. We have also introduced a Saturday clinic to provide increased appointments. This is open to our regular patients and to new patients who are missing their  normal hygiene. Book here

Hygiene at Home

There are many ways you can improve your dental hygiene at home. We can all brush our teeth regularly to begin. As well as that use floss or we recommend interdental brushes. These can really reduce the build up of any tartar between teeth and keep your gums much healthier. For those with bridges or implant work we recommend water-flossers as a great way to keep them clean and healthy.

Hygiene in Surgery

Professional Dental Hygiene can sometimes be the only way to get your teeth completely clean. We provide treatments to remove any tartar build-up and clear any staining. This sometime takes more than one appointment if you have not been for a while.

Why  Dental Hygiene is Important

Dental Hygiene can be about that super clean feeling you love after treatment. It is more than that though.

When teeth are not clean they irritate your gums. This can lead to pain and bleeding. For some this can then lead to the loss of the bone under the gum. This reduces the support around teeth and can cause them to become loose and in the worst cases fall out.

When our teeth are not clean they are also more likely to develop cavities. The plaque on the surface reacts with the sugar we eat to form acid and dissolve the surfaces of teeth.

The tartar build-up that is removed in hygiene treatment is a great surface for plaque to grow on. When this is not removed plaque can survive more easily.
