Dental Bonding Omnichroma

Dental Bonding (sometimes called composite bonding or cosmetic tooth bonding) can make a big difference to the look and health of your teeth. It is one of the quickest and most cost-effective ways for a cosmetic dentist to change the look of your smile, while preserving your natural tooth structure.

We are really enjoying this new dental bonding material called Omnichroma from Tokuyama in Japan.

From a dentist’s point of view it is so nice to work with and handles well, which allows us to provide lovely life like restorations. But perhaps it’s most amazing feature is the way it manages to pick up and match the colour of the tooth being restored. Most composites come in many different shades which have to be applied and mixed to create the tooth colours, but Omnichroma cleverly mimics the tooth around it.

This allows us to create small additions to teeth which blend in to the tooth structure seemlessly. It can be almost impossible to see the join between the tooth and filling material. Cracked and worn teeth can be made to look whole again and the shape of a tooth can be changed to look better. Using this gaps can also be closed. It is amazing that something so simple can make such a huge change in the appearance of teeth.
